Our History

Bluffs Animal Hospital was started in 1961 by Dr. Gerald D. Lee and his wife Liz.  Dr. Lee worked hard to build his practice and added Dr. Don Morgan as his business partner in 1972.  Both Dr. Lee and Dr. Morgan strived to be the best veterinarians as well as leaders in their community, and soon had a thriving, well respected animal hospital.  Dr. Guy Gibson joined the practice in 1997 and helped to ensure not only the longevity of the practice, but its continued tradition of quality medical care and customer service.  Dr. Doug Spiker was added in 2005 and enjoyed four years of working alongside Dr. Morgan and Dr. Gibson.  In late 2008, Dr. Kristin Heatherly joined the Bluffs Animal Hospital family and was a much needed addition to the busy hospital.  In 2009, Dr. Gibson and Dr. Spiker purchased Bluffs Animal Hospital, proud to build on the great foundation Dr. Lee and Dr. Morgan laid, and will continue to provide top quality veterinary care in a welcoming, client oriented atmosphere.

No appointments necessary!

At Bluffs Animal Hospital, we know that it is not always convenient to schedule and keep appointments concerning your pets medical care.  In addition, illnesses and accidents are unpredictable and occur at inconvenient times.  It is for these reasons that we are a walk-in hospital and our clients are encouraged to walk in when convenient.  Veterinarians are on duty at 8:00am and are happy to see you and your pets until closing time - 5:30pm on the weekdays and 12:00pm on Saturdays.  Established clientele may also drop-off their pets during the day and our staff will provide whatever care is needed.  We do make daily appointments for surgery, dental cleanings, boarding, grooming and bathing.   Please call us or e-mail us with any questions: (727) 585-5682, info@bluffsanimal.com.

Transferring to Bluffs

If transferring to Bluffs Animal Hospital from another veterinarian, please bring your pets complete medical records and doctors notes so that we may have the complete medical history.  You may also arrange to have the records faxed to us at (727) 585-0525 or e-mailed to us at info@bluffsanimal.com.  If desired, you may also contact our staff to help you obtain medical records from your previous veterinarian.  Our veterinarians are happy to review medical records and provide second opinions on any medical case.

Payment is due in full at the time of service.  For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, debit cards or credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
